道央圏の酪農家有志による道央広域酪農研究会が昨日、長沼町で行われました。
講師は本誌でお馴染みの田中義春氏（空知農業改良普及センター・空知南西部支所・支所長）で、テーマは「疾病を防ぐ技術的対応」です。
酪農場100戸、経産牛5203頭を調べたところ、1年間の周産期病の平均発症率は21％、その幅は0?48％だったそうです。
それは飼養頭数、個体乳量とは関係がなかったそうです。
そして、発症率が去年少なかった酪農家は今年も少ない、去年多かった農場は今年も多い、そうです。
つまり、周産期病が今年多い農場は、同じ管理をしていたら、来年も、再来年も多いということです。
「周産期病は確実に減らすことができる」として田中氏は、その方法を詳しく解説してくれました。
